Tom Holland will get a familiar co-star for Spider-Man 3 with news that Benedict Cumberbatch reportedly joining the production as Doctor Strange. This should bode well for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the two heroes set to reunite on the big screen once more. Cumberbatch’s role as Doctor Strange is expected to be in a mentorship capacity, similar in vein to the parts of Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury played in the previous two films. Interestingly, Spider-Man 3 may also see the inclusion of Jamie Foxx’s Electro, a part he played in 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Bad news for fans of the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (GLOW) as Netflix has decided to can the hit series. The comedy series centred around a group of female pro-wrestlers who try to make it in the squared circle in the 80s. The series featured Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin, and Marc Maron in the lead roles. What’s even more shocking is that GLOW was initially renewed for season four, unfortunately due to implications brought upon by the COVID-19 shutdown; Netflix has decided to cancel the series altogether, leaving fans hanging after the season three cliff-hanger.
Is Delayed To 2021
Denis Villeneuve’s Dune is the latest Hollywood flick that has been postponed. Warner Bros. has decided to move the sci-fi remake off its December 2020 release date to October 2021. Although disappointing, movie fans have slowly learnt to roll with the punches with these delays and postponement of films due to the health pandemic. So far only a handful of films like Tenet and Mulan have managed to open in cinemas, and even that with somewhat disappointing box-office results. Warner Bros. is still looking to release Wonder Woman 1984 in December but we expect that one to be pushed back too, considering how things are going across the globe.
