Jeff Nichols will helm a new film set within the world of A Quiet Place. The 2018 horror-thriller, which was directed by John Krasinski, has been an impressive hit for Paramount Pictures. The film, which was set in a world where humanity was wiped out by alien invaders who are attracted by sound, was both a critical and financial success. It also spawned a sequel, A Quiet Place: Part II, which was unfortunately delayed from its release date earlier this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The new film, which will be helmed by Nichols, will expand the world crafted from A Quiet Place, likely focusing on new characters.
That’s A Wrap For Jurassic World: Dominion
The next instalment to the Jurassic World franchise has officially wrapped production. Director Colin Trevorrow posted a Tweet announcing the end of filming for the sequel with some of the cast members including Sam Neill. The star of the original Jurassic Park film will feature in the sequel alongside fellow alums, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum. Jurassic World: Dominion is the third film in the Jurassic World franchise. The film will also see Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt return with Daniella Pineda and Mamoudou Athie in supporting roles. The film is set to open in cinemas in summer 2022.
Butler Readies For Another Fallen Sequel
The Fallen action franchise has been somewhat of a peculiar hit for Gerard Butler. The action thriller, centred on U.S. Secret Service Agent, Mike Banning has thus far produced a series of films for Millennium Media. By turning in a decent profit on a regular basis, it’s no surprise to see another film in the series being greenlit. Butler is confirmed to return as Banning in Night Has Fallen, the fourth film in the Fallen series. Angel Has Fallen director, Ric Roman Waugh and screenwriter Robert Mark Kamen are also back to craft the story for the fourth film.
Pratt Reteams With The Russo Brothers
Both Chris Pratt and Wu Jing will team up for the Saigon Bodyguards, a new action comedy, which will be produced by Joe and Anthony Russo. The film is a remake of the 2016 Vietnamese comedy, which revolves around a pair of bodyguards who let an important asset they are guarding slip away. Pratt and the Russo brothers previously collaborated on both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Saigon Bodyguards will be produced by Universal Pictures.
Scorpion King Set For A Reboot
Dwayne Johnson won’t be the Hollywood star he is today without The Scorpion King. The 2002 fantasy actioner was the platform for ‘The Rock’ to make the leap to motion picture. Now, after nearly 20 years, a reboot for the film and the character is set to happen at Universal Pictures with Johnson producing the new flick. The action star however will not reprise his role as The Scorpion King, which will pave the way for a new actor to take on the mantle of the warrior.
