Did you know that Netflix members are likely to share six shows in common with any other member, anywhere in the world? The streaming giant is calling this The Six Degrees of Netflix!
This means you could bump into a Netflix member whether in Singapore or Sao Paulo, Bangkok or Barcelona, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, London, New York or even Antarctica and have six shows you have both watched – whether that’s a series, movie, stand-up comedy special, documentary, or even music special.
Some of the ‘most-likely-to-have-in-common’ titles that Netflix users connect with others include:
La Casa De Papel
The Christmas Chronicles
These six are among the top 20 most frequently shared between two randomly paired active Netflix accounts.
How exactly did Netflix learn about this? Well, apparently the streaming service studied its 139 million paid memberships in over 190 countries and the research showed the Six Shows Statistic: The average number of shows shared between two randomly paired Netflix active accounts, which was 6.2.
Both accounts had to have watched at least one episode of the show in common or 70% of the film in common in the past year.
