Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has added another project to his ever growing slate of films and this time it’s the Disney animated feature Moana. The action star will voice the titular character in the animated movie and as always he took to Instagram to announce to his millions (and millions) of fans:
“At DISNEY STUDIOS signing contracts to play the male lead in their next big classic animated musical, #MOANA. Just had an amazing 2hr presentation and it’s easy to see why they’re the greatest story tellers in the world. Im excited. And in the background my homies Fred & Wasabi from #BigHERO6 are jumpin’ for joy joy cause they heard I’m gonna sing in the movie. #WeTrulyKnowWhereWereGoing #WhenWeUnderstandWhereWereFrom #NeverForgetHome #MOANA”
For those of you who think that Johnson has bitten off a little more than he can chew with this new role, we advise you to think again because The Rock can indeed sing. The actor has constantly shown off his acting skills in films before, mainly in Journey 2: Mysterious Island, where he also played the Ukulele. And he’s sung for a live audience more than several times during his time in the WWE as this video below proves.
Moana comes to theatres in November 2016
