The Predator franchise is getting another jumpstart this time with the expertise of Shane Black, who incidentally starred in the first film alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger. But the former actor has now stepped behind the camera to wield this story that attempts to revitalise the Predator franchise.
The third instalment to the franchise (we’re not counting the horrific Aliens vs Predator films), is reportedly a direct sequel to the first film. The film takes place in suburbia with a whole new bunch of heroes, which will likely meet their end against this alien hunter.
From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species.
When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.
The Predator stars Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Alfie Allen, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Jake Busey, and Yvonne Strahovski. The film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas in mid-September.
