Director Shane Black looks to be back at his best with the final trailer for The Nice Guys starring Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe. Carving a niche for himself with detective noir films, it would seem that Black is channelling some of the winning elements that made Kiss Kiss Bang Bang such a cult classic.
The Nice Guys takes place in 1970s Los Angeles, when down-on-his-luck private eye Holland March (Gosling) and hired enforcer Jackson Healy (Crowe) must work together to solve the case of a missing girl and the seemingly unrelated death of a porn star. During their investigation, they uncover a shocking conspiracy that reaches up to the highest circles of power.
The trailer showcases brilliant comedy timing and great chemistry between its two lead stars. Rated R, the film is slated to open sometime in May in the U.S. No word yet if Warner Bros. is planning on releasing The Nice Guys in Malaysian theatres.
