Once iconic toy, Stretch Armstrong will now have his own animated series thanks to Hasbro and Netflix. The action figure, which was pretty much a highly-stretchable gel-filled figurine, was a big hit in the 70s. Now it’s set to enchant a whole new audience on Netflix.
The new animated series will be based on characters from the Hasbro toy line. Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters follows high school student Jake Armstrong and his two best friends Nathan Park and Ricardo Perez who are accidentally exposed to an experimental chemical that forever changes their seemingly normal lives, transforming them into unlikely heroes who embark on a series of adventures.
Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters will feature the voices of leading Hollywood television and film talent including Steven Yeun, Wil Wheaton, Felicia Day, Keith David, Kate Mulgrew and Walter Koenig. Netflix will air all 26 episodes via its streaming channel in late 2017.
