The new Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Trailer has landed and its teasing to be the most epic instalment to the final chapter of the new trilogy yet. Tonality wise, director J.J. Abrams seems to have knocked this one out of the park with impressive set pieces and scenes in this new trailer.
Still nothing much is known about the new Star Wars film as everything has been shrouded in secrecy. It is confirmed though that original stars Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Billy Dee Williams are returning for appearances in the film. Ian McDarmid is also apparently back as the sinister Emperor Palpatine. It will be interesting to see how Abrams tackles that ‘resurrection’ in this one.
As for the rest of the crew, it seems that Daisy Ridley’s Rey and Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren will be the two focal points of the new film. Their character paths, which have been intertwined since The Force Awakens, may well cross paths for the final time in this film as well.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker also stars John Boyega, Kelly Marie Tran, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Keri Russell, Lupita Nyong’o, and Richard E. Grant. The film opens in Malaysian cinemas on 19 December 2019.
