Star Trek: Discovery Delayed
It’s tough being a Star Trek fan these days. Fresh off the dismal box-office returns of the latest film, it seems that Star Trek: Discovery has also run into some delays. Plagued by a change of show runners after the departure of Bryan Fuller, the CBS show was pushed back to May. But now it seems that the series will be indefinitely delayed for the time being.
That said, there’s still a great chance that we will see the new Star Trek series eventually. After all, CBS has already signed on a few series regulars for the show. Recently, they added a key role to the film, that off a familiar character.
Star Trek: Discovery will see Spock’s father, Sarek appear and it could be a recurring role as well. The role will be played by James Frain of True Blood fame. The addition of Sarek also suggests a possible timeline for the film, which will pre-date Star Trek the original series by about a decade or so.
Joining Frain in the new series are Sonequa Martin-Green, Michelle Yeoh as Starfleet Captain Georgiou and Doug Jones as Starfleet Science Officer and alien Lt. Saru.
