It looks like we’ll all have to wait a while longer to see these two Dreamworks Animation features on the big screen.
Puss in Boots and The Croods were decent sized hits for Dreamworks Animation, which is why the studios will be bringing back both sets of characters back in respective sequels. However, due to a busy scheduling conflict in the initial targeted dates of release, both films have now been pushed back several weeks.
Croods 2 will now open in late December 2017, more than a month from its initial opening date in early November. Puss in Boots 2: Nine Lives and 40 Thieves will also move a month back to late December 2018 now. Both films were apparently shifted to avoid colliding with other films set to be released around the same time.
If Dreamworks stuck to the original dates, the Croods 2 would have to go up against an untitled Marvel Studios movie, whilst Puss in Boots 2 would be facing off against another untitled animated project from 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky animation.
