Cherry sees Holland portraying an army medic who suffers from PTSD following his tour of duty in the Middle East. Arriving back in America, he suffers from drug addiction and has to resort to bank robbery to feed his addition.
In his wild journey, the disenfranchised young man from Ohio meets the love of his life. However, he soon has to face losing her through a series of bad decisions and challenging life circumstances.
Joining Holland in Cherry are Ciara Bravo, Jack Reynor and Damon Wayans Jr. The film is the first directorial effort for both the Russo brothers since Avengers: Endgame. It also marks a reunion of sorts and the first time Holland and the Russo’s have collaborated on a non-MCU movie.
Cherry will arrive in select theatres sometime at the tail end of February before it debuts globally on Apple TV+ on 12 March 2021.
