Fans of Star Wars will be glad to know that Ahsoka Tano will appear as a live-action character in The Mandalorian Season 2. The Disney+ production has signed on Rosario Dawson to portray the character, which is a fan-favourite from The Clone Wars animated series and also the Star Wars Rebels cartoon series.
Dave Filoni, who is responsible for bringing the character to life during his time producing The Clone Wars is also working as a producer on the Disney+ series, which sort of explains the inclusion of the character. The news of Ahsoka Tano in the series is exciting to say the least as it will not only provide a linkage to both animated series but it will also expand the Star Wars universe in a big way.
Dawson’s casting isn’t the only big news from the production of the Disney+ series. Veteran actor Michael Biehn will also feature in The Mandalorian Season 2. He will apparently portray a rival bounty hunter from Mando’s past.
It will be interesting to see what presence Biehn brings to the show due to his impressive body of work, many of which were scene-stealing moments in cinema. His roles in films such as The Terminator, The Abyss, Tombstone and Aliens certainly come to mind.
The Disney+ is currently in the midst of production as it heads toward its October premiere.
