Milla Jovovich’s pregnancy has thrown a spanner into the works of the upcoming sequel.
Fans of the Resident Evil series will have to wait a while longer to see the sixth instalment of the film now that production has been postponed. The film, which will reportedly be titled Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, was supposed to undergo production in South Africa later this year has been temporarily shelved due to series’ star Milla Jovovich’s pregnancy.
The news was broken by the star herself on Facebook:
‘This was originally going to be a post to tell you how excited I am about flying to Cape Town, South Africa to begin working on Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. But… My husband Paul and I just discovered that we are expecting another baby!!!’
This has undoubtedly cast a huge question mark with regards to the production of Resident Evil 6, even more so when Jovivich’s husband, and series’ director, Paul W.S. Anderson was already in the midst of writing the first draft of the film. Oh well, at least Anderson has more time to improve to tinker with the film to make it better from here on end.
