Incredible Hulk director, Louis Leterrier is currently in negotiations to direct Bright 2, a follow-up to Will Smith’s fantasy actioner. The Netflix film, which was set in an alternate universe where mythical creatures like fairies and orcs co-exist with humans, was directed by David Ayer and released in 2017.
At the time, Bright was an immense success for the streaming channel, garnering over 60 million views, making it the most viewed original production on the platform. That record was recently smashed by Chris Hemsworth’s Extraction, with over 90 million views but that doesn’t mean that Netflix has forgotten about their original hit.
If successful, Leterrier will step in to direct Bright 2 with both Smith and co-star Joel Edgerton also returning. Ayer will co-write and co-produce the sci-fi/fantasy production. Leterrier has already some experience at Netflix, directing all ten episodes of The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance for the streaming giant. His previous efforts also include Now You See Me and Clash of the Titans.
