It looks like Michael Fassbender may have landed a potential spy franchise at Lionsgate with the studio keen to develop a film based on Gerard de Villiers’ bestselling S.A.S. book series.
The film, titled Malko, will follow the adventures of Malko Linge, a CIA operative who developed his espionage skills working with captures spies in a Nazi work camp. He soon plies his trade becoming an agent for hire, employed by the world’s most covert agencies.
Fassbender will star and produce the project for Lionsgate with Oscar-nominated writer, Eric Warren Singer set to write the script. The story will reportedly be adapted from the book Checkpoint Charlie from the series. Fassbender will next star in the action comedy, Kung Fury by David Sandberg.
