Kurt Russell could be strutting his stuff in the Marvel cinematic soon enough and it’s a premise that has gotten fans pretty excited. Speculation is rife that the Marvel Studios is looking at the veteran actor for a key role in the upcoming sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy.
The rumour mill is certainly working overtime on this recent development with some outlets suggesting that Russell could be scouted to portray the father of Peter Quill a.k.a. Star Lord. The premise is certainly enticing considering the gravitas the actor brings to his performances. Russell is also enjoying a renaissance of sorts with plum roles in Furious 7, The Hateful Eight and Bone Tomahawk.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is currently in development with James Gunn returning to the director’s chair with filming targeted to begin sometime early next year. The film is currently pencilled in to open in cinemas in summer 2017.
