Beloved 80s cartoon series, M.A.S.K could be potentially be turned into a live-action franchise at Paramount Pictures. Director F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) is said to be helming the film, which will be based on the hit Saturday morning animated series and toy line.
For those unfamiliar with the source material, M.A.S.K. is an acronym for Mobile Armored Strike Kommand, which is essentially everyday vehicles disguise as assault vehicles. This includes a Ford Thunderhawk, which could ‘transform’ into a plane and a semi-truck that doubles up as a tank.
The bad guys in the film are V.E.N.O.M. (Vicious Evil Network of Mayhem), who also have similar vehicles. Unlike Transformers, the vehicles in the film were driven by human characters. According to a report in The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount Pictures has apparently tapped Bad Boys for Life co-writer Chris Bremner to write the script for the M.A.S.K. movie.
