Fans of the mutant series, Legion will have to brace themselves for some disappointment as FX has decided to cancel the series after season 3. The series starring Dan Stevens as David Haller, a mutant diagnosed with schizophrenia who also happens to be the son of Charles Xavier.
The series was launched in 2017 and featured two seasons, one with David struggling to control his powers and one where he battles the Shadow King in a battle of minds and realities. Legion is based off the character featured in the X-Men comic book series.
One wonders if the cancellation of the series has to do with Disney acquiring FOX or perhaps the ratings of the program, which has been divisive at best. Legion bordered closely into the psychological effects of the superhero genre, which oftentimes resulted in very strange and highly-cerebral story-telling.
Legion Season 3 is due to air in the middle of this year. It will be interesting to see how FX intends to wrap up this series for fans.
