We can’t remember the last time we saw a live-action Tarzan movie but that will soon chance as The Legend of Tarzan will reintroduce us once again to the lord of the apes. The Warner Bros. film does boast a pretty impressive cast made up off Alexander Skarsgård, Margot Robbie, Djimon Hounsou, Samuel L. Jackson, John Hurt, and Christoph Waltz.
The film marks a slight departure of sorts for the iconic character as it opens years after the events that made Tarzan the man he is. According to the official synopsis, it has been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Skarsgård) left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane (Robbie) at his side.
Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom (Waltz). But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.
