Although Kingsman: The Golden Circle wasn’t as great as the original, the sequel made enough money at box-office to warrant Kingsman 3. The follow-up to The Golden Circle will arrive in 2019 with Matthew Vaughn returning to write and direct.
Kingsman 3 reportedly has an early November 2019 release date and will reunite the cast of the franchise, namely Taron Egerton and Colin Firth. The film is expected to close out the story of Eggsy and Harry, which began in the original Kingsman film in 2014.
In terms of storyline, one wonders if Vaughn will continue the storyline that ended The Golden Circle with Eggsy getting married and presumably out of the spy game. The end of the film also heavily hinted a new direction for the franchise with the introduction of the Statesman, with Channing Tatum portraying Agent Tequila, stepping up to potentially lead the new phase of the franchise.
Regardless, we hope Kingsman 3 goes back to the formula that made the original such a fun and entertaining watch. Sadly though it will have to do without the talents of Mark Strong, whose role as Merlin came unwisely to an end in The Golden Circle.
