It looks like they’ll be a familiar face in the new Transformers movie, now that Josh Duhamel has officially joined the production. Despite moving into a new timeline and moving away from its previous trilogy, Transformers: The Last Knight will feature Duhamel reprising his role as Lieutenant Colonel Lennox.
Little is known about the fifth chapter of the lucrative Transformers franchise, except that it will reunite some of the cast and crew of 2014’s Age of Extinction. The Lennox character was introduced in 2007’s Transformers film and later returned in 2009’s Revenge of the Fallen and 2011’s Dark of the Moon. He was absent from the 2014 outing but it seems now that Director Michael Bay is eager to have more linkage to the old trilogy and the new one.
Duhamel’s participation in the film would mark the first time he will star alongside Mark Wahlberg in a film. No word yet if other cast members such as Shia LaBeouf or Tyrese Gibson will be returning as well. Transformers: The Last Knight is expected to begin production fairly soon as it’s scheduled for a summer 2017 release.
