The Harry Potter prequel, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them has added Jon Voight to its extensive cast. Production is already underway on the Warner Bros. franchise and the veteran actor isn’t the only new addition to the project as he’s also joined by Gemma Chan and Carmen Ejogo as well.
No details were given with regards to the characters these actors will be portraying but what we do know is that the story takes place many years before Harry Potter and gang went to Hogwarts. Academy Award winner, Eddie Redmayne is taking the lead on this prequel project, playing a character called Newt Scamander who specialises in finding and documenting magical creatures. In the Potter-verse, Scamander’s book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them ultimately becomes a textbook that is used by the young wizards at Hogwarts.
Joining Redmayne in the film are Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton and Colin Farrell as the wizard Graves. David Yates, who directed the last four Harry Potter movies, is in the director’s chair for this one. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is pencilled in for a mid-November 2016 release.
