Great news for Jon Stewart fans because the comedian/ talk show host has just signed a new four-year deal with HBO. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Stewart will produce a number of short-form content for the channel, specifically their extensions namely HBO Go and HBO Now.
HBO previously signed John Oliver, who has been garnering huge success with the channel’s Last Week Tonight program, which covers political matters. Stewart has been relatively tight lipped about his next venture after leaving The Daily Show and has only appeared as Guest Host of WWE Summerslam in recent months.
It will be a while before we see John Stewart deliver his brand of comedy again on television. But the HBO deal is nonetheless intriguing to see just what he can deliver for the channel. If all else fails, there’s always the WWE, since he is an admitted fan of the sports entertainment company.
