John Malkovich is the latest star to take on the character of Hercule Poirot in Amazon Prime Video’s adaptation of The ABC Murders. Based on the Agatha Christie novel, the limited series sees Malkovich portray iconic detective Hercule Poirot.
The ABC Murders takes place in 1933 focusing on a killer who travels the length and breadth of Britain via the railway network. The killer uses the alias ABC, and strikes in a methodical pattern, leaving a copy of the ABC railway guide at the scene of each of murder.
As Poirot (John Malkovich) attempts to investigate he is thwarted on every front. If he is to match his most cunning nemesis, everything about him will be called into question: his authority, his integrity, his identity. Check out the trailer below:
The ABC Murders also stars Rupert Grint, Andrew Buchan, Anya Chalotra, Eamon Farren, Jack Farthing, Tara Fitzgerald, Shirley Henderson, Bronwyn James, Freya Mavor, and Michael Shaeffer.
Previously Kenneth Branagh portrayed Poirot in 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express. He will also reprise the role in the sequel, Death on the Nile, which is due in 2020.
