Sony’s Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse sequel is currently in development and it will once again bring more wall-crawlers into the fold. This time around, we will get to see Spider-Man 2099, a character that was introduced in the 90s by Peter David and Rick Leonardi.
Set in the future, the comic book introduced fans to Miguel O’Hara, the wall crawler from the year 2099. Now, fans will get to see the animated version of the character in the Spider-Verse sequel, which has been confirmed by Sony.
“One year closer to 2022,” read the official Tweet from the Spider-Verse Twitter account. Spider-Man 2099 will be voiced by Oscar Isaac. The character was previously seen in a post-credit scene from the first Spider-Verse film, which suggests a bigger role for the superhero in the sequel.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 is set to arrive in cinemas in October 2022.
