Adrien Brody stars as legendary magician Harry Houdini in a two-night special exclusively on History.
In the realm of magic, Harry Houdini is widely considered as the magician that started it all. Born Erich Weiss, the talented illusionist ascended from a humble background as an immigrant from Eastern Europe to become a household name in America.
Now, History is lifting the veil off this legendary magician’s life and career with a two-part special. The epic four hour scripted mini-series, which airs the same day as the U.S. will premiere on 2nd and 3rd September on History at 9pm, with an encore back-to-back telecast on 6th Sep beginning 9pm.
Night 1 of Houdini will chronicle the master illusionist’s beginnings from circus sideshows to sold-out concert halls in Europe. Watch how Erich Weiss takes on the persona of the master escapologist and emerges to become America’s first bonafide world renowned superstar.
But it is all not rosy for the magician as Night 2 takes a dark turn showcasing Houdini’s epic battle against the spiritualists whose practices he found to be false and misleading. As the 20th century progresses and modernity overtakes industrial age antiquity, Houdini must come to terms with his new place in a fast-changing world.
Houdini airs 2 & 3 September at 9pm on History and History HD (Astro Ch555 & Astro B.Yond Ch575)
