Eager to expand and capitalise on the DC movie universe, Warner Bros. is apparently looking to launch a number of films, one of which could be a Harley Quinn movie. This bit of news should be taken with a pinch of salt though seeing that Suicide Squad hasn’t been released in cinemas yet.
There’s a tonne of anticipation behind the David Ayer directed film as it stands as the first ensemble supervillain focused movie. Margot Robbie portrays Quinn in the movie and she’s joined by Will Smith who takes on the mantle of Deadshot and Jared Leto who is bringing his version of the Joker to life.
But getting back to that Harley Quinn movie, word is out that Warner Bros. is eager to capitalise on the character and they may well use her as an anchor for the film which could debut other DC villains and heroes as well. According to rumours, the studio could use the film as a launch pad to introduce other DC characters such as Batgirl and the Birds of Prey.
Suicide Squad is scheduled for release in August 2016.
