The Godzilla: King of the Monsters trailer tees up a Kaiju-sized battle royale with several super-species doing battle on earth. Starring Vera Farmiga and Millie Bobby Brown, the new story takes place years after 2014’s Godzilla with humanity struggling with the knowledge that giant sized monsters exist.
The new film follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah.
When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.
The Godzilla: King of the Monsters trailer shows us glimpse of these new monsters plus the devastation they cause. It also hints that Farmiga’s character has some nefarious plans in play that has brought these beasts together.
Directed by Michael Dougherty, Godzilla: King of the Monsters also stars Ken Watanabe, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sally Hawkins and Kyle Chandler. The film stomps its way into cinemas at the end of May 2019.
