The 1977 Disney classic, Pete’s Dragon was a family-friendly hit that merged together animation with live-action. 40 years on, the film is getting a big screen updated reboot and we’ve now got a first look at the elusive dragon named Elliott.
The new Elliott is big, green and furry, which is a far cry from the hand drawn character seen in the 70s original. He’s also 100% computer generated but other than those big changes, at the heart of this film still beats the very same storyline that was loved by children. The first teaser trailer revealed just a glimpse of the film but with the new photo out, perhaps we’ll see more of Pete and his dragon yet.
The 2016 Pete’s Dragon tells the story of an orphan boy named Pete who lives in the wood with his giant pet dragon. The film stars Oakes Fegley, Robert Redford and Bryce Dallas Howard. Pete’s Dragon flies into theatres this August.
