Christian Bale and Matt Damon are fronting the new Ford vs Ferrari film directed by James Mangold. The film tells the story of the historical 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans race in France, which saw Ford usurping Ferrari from its dominance in the field of endurance racing.
Damon stars as renowned American car designer Carroll Shelby who sets out to build the evolutionary car to challenge Ferrari at the renowned race. The car itself as many will know was ultimately the Ford GT40.
Bale is portraying British/American racer, Ken Miles who is the man tasked to get behind the wheels of the racing machine.
According to early reactions from snippets of the film shown at CinemaCon, it looks like Mangold, Bale and Damon have put together quite an impressive film. Ford vs Ferrari reportedly have a lot of actual racing sequences, which are not CGI-produced.
We’re waiting in anticipation to see what those sequences will look like, and we don’t really have to wait long as the first trailer is bound to be released soon. Ford vs Ferrari is racing into cinemas this November.
