Sopranos and Nurse Jackie star, Edie Falco has joined the upcoming Avatar production starring as a Commander of the fictional Resources Development Administration. The news was announced by the official Avatar Twitter account.
Despite being postponed numerous times, the Avatar sequels are now close to becoming a reality, and fans should be transported back to Pandora by next Christmas. Falco is on board to play General Ardmore, who is a Commander in charge of the RDA’s interests.
The organisation is said to be the largest single non-governmental organization in human space, whose power outmatches most of Earth governments in wealth, political influence, and military capability.
The nefarious sounding RDA sounds like the film’s big bad, which could mean that Falco is coming in to fill the shoes of Stephen Lang who portrayed the evil Colonel Miles Quaritch in the first film. Avatar 2 is set for release in mid-December 2020 and will boast the star power of Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, CCH Pounder, Kate Winslet and Oona Chaplin.
