Disney’s live-action adaptation of Dumbo is looking to be one of the most-anticipated family-friendly films of 2019. The film, which will be based on the 1941 animated classic, already boasts an all-star cast and the directorial talents of Tim Burton.
However, don’t expect the film to follow some of Disney’s recent live-action treatments. Dumbo will reportedly centre on a character named Holt who is played by Colin Farrell. According to the official synopsis, Dumbo will focus on Holt who was once a circus star but he went off to war and when he returned, it had terribly altered him.
Circus owner Max Medici (Danny DeVito) hires him to take care of Dumbo, a new-born elephant whose oversized ears make him the laughing stock of the struggling circus troupe. But when Holt’s children discover that Dumbo can fly, entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton), and aerial artist Colette Marchant (Eva Green) swoop in to make the little elephant a star.
Dumbo is expected to swoop its way into cinemas in late March 2019.
