Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt headline Disney’s Jungle Book, a new action adventure based on the iconic theme park ride. Like the Pirates of the Caribbean, this latest Disney adventure is not short on special effects and supernatural elements.
Johnson portrays a riverboat captain named Frank, who is hired to transport researcher Lily Houghton (Blunt) on a quest to find a magic tree in the Amazon rainforest, which has healing powers. Check out the trailer below and you’ll see what we mean.
There are underlying similarities in both films, such as swashbuckling set pieces along with comedy elements. With the chemistry and talents of both Johnson and Blunt, Disney’s Jungle Cruise looks poised to be a hit and certifiable box-office franchise for Disney.
Jaume Collett-Sera directs this adventure down the Amazon, which sails into cinemas this July.
