This latest issue is just the latest in the long line of issues plaguing Scarface. Earlier on, Antoine Fuqua, Pablo Larrain and David Yates, were linked to the film. Frankly, finding anyone who’s willing to take on this project could be a tall order. After all, Scarface is considered a classic, which helped solidify Al Pacino’s chops as an actor.
Directed by Brian DePalma, Scarface was a major hit when it was released in the early 80s. A remake could ultimately prove a costly mistake for Universal Pictures as well as Diego Luna who has been tapped to lead the remake.
