“Opening in grand fashion, Disney/Marvel’s ‘Captain Marvel’ starring Brie Larson took the world by storm with an incredible USD455 million worldwide opening weekend that marks the sixth highest global debut of all time, the second biggest for a superhero film and the biggest ever for March,” commented Comscore’s Senior Media Analyst Paul Dergarabedian.
In the U.S. the film notched up USD153 million, but in China the film posted an estimated USD89.3 million to be the third highest MCU opening weekend there.
