Hasbro and Paramount Pictures are all too eager to capitalise on the Transformers franchise especially with a Bumblebee movie on the horizon. The robots in disguise franchise looks set to continue with three more film announced with Transformers 5 set to open in summer 2017 and a sixth and seventh for 2018 and 2019 respectively.
Now it seems that the film scheduled for 2018 is set to be a Transformers spinoff featuring a fan-favourite. The Bumblebee movie will see the Camaro transforming Autobot feature in its very own standalone adventure.
Seemingly taking a page out of Star Wars, the Transformers franchise looks to continue expanding its universe on screen. Despite Transformers: Age of Extinction being critically panned by many, the film nevertheless managed to yield over a billion dollars at the box-office. Judging by that alone, it’s easy to see why Hasbro and Paramount want to milk the franchise further.
As for the next film in the franchise, director Michael Bay has been confirmed to return to the director’s chair with Mark Wahlberg also returning to reprise his role as inventor Cade Yeager.
