Ant-Man enjoyed a decent run at the box-office and it comes to no surprise that Marvel wants to do an Ant-Man sequel. Marvel Studios has announced that the follow-up to this year’s Phase 2 film will be titled Ant-Man and the Wasp and it will be released in July 2018.
The good news is that Marvel intends to continue the storyline that was developed at the end of Ant-Man, especially in the first post credits teaser that more than hinted the appearance of the Wasp. If you’d seen the film, you’d know that Evangeline Lily’s character, Hope Van Dyne will play the superheroine.
Star, Paul Rudd will be back to portray the superhero as well but no word yet if director Peyton Reed will return to helm the Ant-Man sequel. Rudd will appear in Captain America: Civil War next and with Ant-Man and the Wasp scheduled for release after Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1, it would be interesting to see what roles this superhero couple will have in the Marvel ensemble film.
