There’s a report Andre the Giant movie in the works, which will be based on the life of the late pro-wrestler. Based on the graphic novel biography, Andre the Giant: Closer to Heaven, the biopic will focus on the life of the largest men ever to compete in the squared circle.
Andre the Giant, born Andre Roussimoff, was a primary main eventer in pro-wrestling territories in the 70s and 80s, largely due to his immense size. He featured in countless wrestling territories but was truly recognised during his tenure in the World Wrestling Federation, where he main evented WrestleMania III against World Champion Hulk Hogan.
The match in front of over 90,000 fans culminated with Andre getting body slammed by Hogan, which is considered one of the most iconic matches in pro-wrestling history. But the 7-feet-4 giant’s talents stretched beyond wrestling as he also co-starred in the 1987 fantasy classic, The Princess Bride.
